Commanders Column

We are at the end of this years time and my time as camp commander so I would like to take this time to thank everyone in the camp for all they have done to make this year great.

Also to thank the officers for making this easy for me for being the first time to be the Camp commander.

Thanks,

The Treasurer's Report was motioned accepted as published in the Courier by Brother Griggs and seconded by Brother Tyrl, motion passed.

Brother Lowe opened the meeting by briefing on the new memorial soldier stones available through the VA "In Memory of" for soldiers who died during the war whose remains were never recovered or identified. A descendant of a soldier whose remains were never recovered went through the veteran's administration's process to obtain a stone for their relative who died in the service and the VA sent an "In Memory of" stone. The Surgeon General's Casualty list of 1887 was used to verify the death of the soldier during the Civil War. The stone was placed in the family plot in Livingston County and Brothers Lowe and Waters assisted. There will be a dedication for this marker June 23, 2012.
